Pennsylvania Fish For Free Days: Fun For The Whole Family!

Plus two locations in Crawford County where you can borrow fishing equipment for FREE!

May 8, 2019

Pennsylvania's fish for free days allow residents and non-residents to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways with no fishing license required.

This year you can enjoy fish for free days on Sunday, May 26, and Thursday, July 4.

All other fishing regulations still apply.

Don't have a pole? Don't worry! There are two sites in Crawford County where you can "check out" fishing poles, rods, reels and a tackle box full of hooks and other terminal tackle during their regular business hours.

In Crawford County those locations are:

  • Linesville Fish Hatchery Visitor Center: 13300 Hartstown Road, Linesville
  • Pymatuning State Park: 2660 Williamsfield Road, Jamestown

The loaner program, a partnership between the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the American Sportfishing Association, and other sponsors, is designed to make it easy for anyone to access fishing tackle. Here is a map with a full list of loaner locations throughout Pennsylvania.
