As we all are well aware, our state government is instituting "Phased Reopening" to commence to GREEN status as of May 29. To read about the state's recommendations and explanation of what each phase entails click HERE. To view CDC advisories to those intending travel from home click HERE. You may be in the same boat with me: anxious to enjoy less restriction regarding personal activities yet concerned to still be doing all I should to remain in good health.  Many of the activities we've enjoyed during summers past are still feasible to carry out today as long as I remain mindful and do a little tailoring. First, and most importantly, contact your destination to ensure that you will have access to the area and become aware of any temporary restrictions that may currently be in place, such as limited access to litter collection or restroom facilities.

Being active is important for your mental + physical health! Exercise safely outdoors-
🏞 visit spaces in your community
👥 avoid crowded areas + busy times
🐕 keep pets from interacting w/others
↔️ stay 6 feet away from others not in your household

Here are five areas that will allow your family to be outside together this summer. Follow the individual links for more info and directions.

ERIE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE The refuge trails remain open from sunrise to sunset. The refuge has five nature trails: Beaver Run Trail, Deer Run Trail, Tsuga Trail, Muddy Creek Holly Trail and Trolley Line Trail. Downloadable booklets can be found here and here.

PYMATUNNING STATE PARK The Spillway Trail offers  2.5 miles of easy hiking with over 8 miles of snowmobile trails  adjacent. The park lists a few other trails, with their length and  difficulty levels here.

ERNST TRAIL The paved trail is five miles long, located from the Park Avenue Plaza in Meadville. More info here.

SAMUEL JUSTUS TRAIL This 6 mile trail is south of Crawford, just inside Venango county. It doesn't loop. Endpoints are in Oil City and Franklin.
