'kAY, SO PARADES AND (MOSTLY) FIREWORKS HAVE BEEN NIXED THIS YEAR. Why not consider a small gathering with family and/or friends to enjoy a day swimming and picnicking? I've scouted three parks, each one a great location.
The beach pictured with the green slide is Fireman's Beach located in Conneut Lake. Fireman's Beach is a public recreation area and boat launch facility located on N. 2nd Street in Conneaut Lake PA. Parking is very convenient and there are picnic tables and restrooms nearby.
Another likely location for a get together is Woodcock Lake Park. (This playground has blue slides in the photo.) Woodcock Lake Park maintains four picnic shelters and 100 tables scattered throughout the park for picnickers’ pleasure. Boats with motors 10hp or less permitted and there is a beach with grass close by. Restrooms and snack bar is not open this year, but there is a port-a-john near the playground at the beach.
A third spot for a day outdoors, and my personal favorite, is Linesville Beach located at 19186 W Erie St Ext, Linesville. This is on Lake Pymatuning. This area has it all; convenient parking, a sandy beach, picnic tables with bbq grates, restroom with shower, and even nearby boat rentals! This park is very large, spanning PA and Ohio.
